  editorial comment/note

In order to thoroughly study and implement the cultural thoughts of the Supreme Leader, conscientiously implement the spirit of the national conference on propaganda and ideological and cultural work, and implement the spirit of the important speech delivered by the General Secretary of the Supreme Leader at the forum on cultural inheritance and development, the "Hundred Forums on Core Values" co-sponsored by Publicity Department of the Communist Party of China Education Bureau and Guangming Daily planned a series of lectures around the theme of cultural inheritance and development. This forum came to the Palace Museum to deeply explore the value of the world cultural heritage of the Palace Museum and systematically explain the new meaning of Chinese culture. This lecture is the final work of this series.

At the symposium on cultural inheritance and development, General Secretary of the Supreme Leader emphasized that it is our new cultural mission in the new era to continue to promote cultural prosperity, build a cultural power and build a modern civilization of the Chinese nation at a new starting point. We should strengthen our cultural self-confidence, take on the mission, work hard, make joint efforts to create a new culture belonging to our time and build a modern civilization of the Chinese nation.

As a world cultural heritage, the Forbidden City is the carrier of Chinese civilization for more than 5,000 years, the gathering place of Chinese excellent traditional culture and the witness of multicultural exchange and integration. Its unique material and cultural heritage fully demonstrates the outstanding continuity, innovation, unity, inclusiveness and peace of Chinese civilization.

More than 600 years of palaces and more than 5,000 years of Chinese civilization.

The Forbidden City, once the "Forbidden City", was a royal palace building in the Ming and Qing Dynasties. The Forbidden City was built in 1420, with a history of more than 600 years. It is the epitome of ancient palace architecture in China and the intellectual creation of ancient working people in China. This palace not only embodies our cultural tradition, but also embodies the wisdom accumulated by Chinese in the process of its own development and dealing with the relationship between man and nature and between man and society.

The Forbidden City, with a history of more than 600 years, needs to be understood in the process of the emergence and development of civilization. The planning for the construction of the Forbidden City is deeply influenced by Zhou Li Kao Gong Ji, which shows the principles of capital construction that have been followed since ancient times. Kao Gong Ji was written in the Spring and Autumn Period and the Warring States Period, and Zhou Li was added in the Western Han Dynasty, which became one of the Confucian classics. Its construction order and planning ideas such as "choosing neutral palace" and "ritual system" reflected the value orientation of China traditional culture for more than 5,000 years. In the planning structure stipulated in Kao Gong Ji, the core point is that the palace is the center of the city, so the planning of Beijing city is centered around the palace, that is, the Forbidden City. After the construction of the Ming and Qing Dynasties, Beijing is centered on the Forbidden City, and the walls of Miyagi, Inner City and Outer City are interlocking and square, and the Forbidden City shows the grand momentum of "within the country" under the contrast of the walls. The Forbidden City not only inherited the traditional triple city system, but also attached the ancient layout such as "Zuo Zu You She", "Front and Back Bedding" and "Five Doors and Three Dynasties", which reflected the ideal pursuit of Confucianism and became the highest existing model in the development history of ancient Miyagi in China.

The design concept of the Forbidden City reflects the idea of "neutralization" pursued by the ancients in China. There is a saying in the Book of Rites, The Doctrine of the Mean: "Those who are moderate are also the foundation of the world; He who is in harmony will achieve the Tao in the world. To be neutral, the status of heaven is awkward, and everything is nurtured. " General Secretary of the Supreme Leader pointed out that Chinese culture advocates harmony, and China’s "harmony" culture has a long history, which contains the cosmology of harmony between man and nature, the international view of harmony among all nations, the social view of harmony but difference, and the moral view of kindness among people. After thousands of years of development and accumulation, "neutralization" has gradually sublimated into philosophy, aesthetics and even ethics, and has increasingly become the core category and leading spirit of Chinese traditional culture, and this ideal pursuit of the Chinese nation is concentrated in the Forbidden City. The buildings in the Forbidden City are straight from north to south and symmetrical from left to right. The straight central axis runs through the meridian, and the first three halls and the last three palaces are evenly arranged on the central axis. The first three halls are the Hall of Supreme Harmony, the Hall of Zhonghe and the Hall of Baohe, all of which have the word "harmony" in their names, which embodies the connotation of Chinese traditional culture as harmony between man and nature, social harmony and physical and mental harmony. Whether it is the first three halls of the outer court with the theme of "protecting harmony and harmony" and "seeking harmony",It is also the imperial palace and the third palace, which advocates the cooperation between Gankun and Thailand and the coexistence of all things. The way of neutralization of "keeping harmony in China" is the highest pursuit contained in it. In addition, the Forbidden City carries and carries forward the idea of neutralization, which was formed as early as the pre-Qin period and passed down in later generations, in a unique way and in a special language of the Chinese nation, from the plaque of "Allow to be in a trance" to the Zhonghe Shao music played at important ceremonies.

There are more than 1.86 million pieces of cultural relics in the Forbidden City, which span different historical periods from the Neolithic Age to the Song, Yuan, Ming and Qing Dynasties to modern times. They also bear the Chinese civilization, embody the spiritual core of Chinese excellent traditional culture, and also reflect the intellectual creation of working people. The source of these cultural relics, on the one hand, depends on the royal collection from generation to generation, and collects the cultural relics of the previous dynasty through the national power of the feudal dynasty; On the one hand, it is to collect from all aspects of society, gather the culture carried by cultural relics into the palace, and then transform the value carried by cultural relics into a culture that combines with the times. There is also one of the biggest sources of cultural relics, which is palace production. In order to meet the needs of their material life and spiritual life, emperors and dignitaries recruited craftsmen from all over the country to make a large number of articles with superb craftsmanship, which gave us a chance to see these exquisite productions today, and at the same time, through these cultural relics, we could understand the spiritual world, life pursuit and cultural interests of the ancients. Another source is the large-scale cultural projects and archives compiled in Ming and Qing Dynasties. For example, Yongle Dadian, Sikuquanshu, etc., have collected vast classical documents in history.

The Forbidden City is a place where multi-cultures merge. There are more than a dozen religious buildings and sites in the Forbidden City that embody Taoism, Buddhism and Shamanism, such as Qin ‘an Hall, Xianruo Hall, Yuhua Pavilion and Kunning Palace. The national language of the rulers of the Qing dynasty is Manchu; Before and after the establishment of the Qing Dynasty, the tradition of alliance and marriage with Mongolian tribes was maintained. After the Qing Dynasty entered the Central Plains, the main ethnic group in China was the Han nationality. Therefore, on the plaque hanging in the Forbidden City, you can see Manchu, Mongolian and Chinese. The court dress in Qing Dynasty is also the product of the long-term collision and blending of Manchu culture and Han culture.

In the Forbidden City, no matter from its ancient buildings or cultural relics, we can see that in the long history, different ethnic groups have merged and condensed together through culture, forming a big family of the Chinese nation that helps each other and forming a sense of community of the Chinese nation. At the same time, it is also in this process that Chinese culture can innovate and develop. When we come from history, we must look back and remember it, so that we can look at reality and face the future.

The cultural symbol of the Chinese nation and the physical witness of mutual learning of civilizations.

The Forbidden City is an important symbol of Chinese traditional culture and one of the most iconic symbols of China on the world stage. In the 600-year history of the Forbidden City, its connection with the world has never been interrupted. It can be seen from the collection of cultural relics in the Palace Museum that there are a large number of foreign cultural relics among more than 1.86 million cultural relics. In the long history, the Forbidden City can be said to be a witness to the integration of the world and mutual learning of civilizations.

Internationally, the national museum of Britain, the Metropolitan Museum of America, the Louvre Museum in France and other world-famous museums have a wide geographical distribution, and they collect a large number of cultural relics and treasures from all over the world. Different from them, the foreign cultural relics in the Forbidden City have a clear source and a clear vein. None of them are looted treasures, and most of them have entered the collection system of the Ming and Qing palaces as witnesses of peaceful and friendly exchanges between countries.

The Palace Museum has a collection of more than 1,500 Chinese and foreign clocks and watches, and their production dates range from the 18th century to the early 20th century. Among them, there are famous works from Britain, France, Switzerland and other countries, as well as fine works from the clock-making office in the Qing Dynasty and Guangzhou, and some products combining Chinese and western styles. Why are there so many "imported" clocks and watches in China court? At first, many of them were gifts brought by foreign missions or organizations. Later, a considerable number of them were "imperial clocks" independently manufactured by the Qing Palace Construction Office. In the 29th year of Wanli in Ming Dynasty (1601), Italian missionary Matteo Ricci presented clocks and watches as gifts for the first time to Emperor Wanli, and since then, a large number of exquisite clocks and watches have continuously entered the courts of Ming and Qing Dynasties. Yongzheng emperor in Qing Dynasty was not satisfied with simply using western timekeeping methods, but asked craftsmen to make "watches" that could tell the time during the day and play at night. With the help of westerners, craftsmen in the manufacturing office added devices such as setting and adjusting clocks to create clocks unique to China, so that they can adjust and determine the start, end and interval of each watch according to the length of the night of the 24 solar terms in a year, which perfectly combines the western mechanical device technology with the traditional way of telling time in China.

China porcelain is famous far and wide, and it was exported overseas in large quantities at the latest in the Tang Dynasty. However, many people may not know that the blue-and-white porcelain produced in the Yuan Dynasty to the early Ming Dynasty used an imported dye called "Su Ma Li Qing", the main component of which was cobalt oxide, which originated in Persia and was introduced to China in the Yuan Dynasty and began to be used for firing blue-and-white porcelain. In the Ming Dynasty, after Zheng He’s voyage to the West, he brought back a large amount of Su Ma Li Qing minerals to China, so Su Ma Li Qing was widely used for firing blue and white official kiln porcelain in Yongle and Xuande Dynasties. Later, domestic blue-and-white pigments gradually replaced Su Ma Li Qing, forming a new style different from imported materials.

In the late Ming and early Qing dynasties, more and more western envoys and missionaries came to the Forbidden City. After entering China, these foreigners did as the Romans do, and actively adapted to and integrated into the social life at that time in all aspects such as food, clothing, housing and transportation. From Matteo Ricci, an Italian, to Beijing in 1601, for 237 consecutive years, westerners with professional skills served the Forbidden City. They were engaged in painting, clocks, medicine and other professional work in the palace. Many of the paintings in the Qing Dynasty were painted by western court painters. In the process of communication between Chinese and Western painters, European perspective painting and China’s pen and ink style are integrated, forming a new painting style combining Chinese and Western painting. Different from China’s ink freehand brushwork, the figures, flowers, birds, horses and elephants drawn by western painters such as Lang Shining, He Qingtai, Joseph Panzi and Wang Zhicheng are realistic and lifelike. Such as "Shaolu Tu", "Ben Lu Tu Zhou" and "Gong Xiang Ma Tu Juan" are all excellent works of this kind.

What the Forbidden City witnessed is not the narcissism of a single cultural form, but the exchange and integration of cultures from all over the world. The culture of the Forbidden City is not only China’s, but also the world’s. The cultures of various countries exchange, communicate and blend here, and the Chinese civilization exchanges and learns from each other with other civilizations in the world. This eclectic and open-minded attitude towards world civilization fully embodies the inclusiveness and peace of Chinese civilization, and highlights the spirit of Chinese civilization, which never forgets the original, absorbs foreign countries and faces the future.

The crystallization of civilization: from royal palace to "people’s museum"

The Palace Museum was established in 1925, based on the imperial palaces and their collections in Ming and Qing Dynasties. At the same time, it has the characteristics of architecture museum, art museum and history museum, which conforms to the internationally recognized basic principles of "original site protection" and "original display" and is a profound historical and cultural treasure house. With the Revolution of 1911, the abdication of the Qing Emperor Puyi in 1912, the establishment of the Antiquities Exhibition Center in 1914 and the establishment of the Palace Museum on October 10, 1925, the Forbidden City gradually changed from an old royal palace to a "people’s museum" open to the public.

The early development of the Palace Museum was very difficult. On October 8, 1928, the Council of the Palace Museum was established, which put the Palace Museum on the right track. The 27-member Council of the Palace Museum has gathered people from all walks of life. Since then, the Palace Museum has taken on the mission of researching, protecting and inheriting Chinese excellent traditional culture.

In 1987, the Forbidden City became the first batch of world cultural heritage in China, and the protection and research of the Forbidden City entered the fast lane, among which the most important project was to build a cultural relic warehouse. In the past, cultural relics were preserved in buildings on the ground, so it was difficult to control the temperature and humidity in an ideal state, and it was impossible to completely resist air pollution and dust. It was urgent to find a safe home for cultural relics. At the end of 1980s, the construction of the first and second phase of the cultural relics warehouse was started, and it was built in succession in 1990s. Most precious cultural relics moved to the underground cultural relics warehouse, and now the third phase of the cultural relics warehouse is under construction, and the conditions of the ground warehouse are gradually improved. In the new century, the centennial overhaul of the Forbidden City has been put on the agenda, and it is the central government’s decision-making that has enabled us to see such a magnificent Forbidden City today. In the 1990s, many buildings in the Palace Museum were dilapidated and the environment was poor. After a hundred years of overhaul, together with the cultural relics inventory that lasted for seven years and the Ping ‘an Palace Museum project started in 2013, most of the ancient buildings in the Palace Museum were properly protected, and most of the cultural relics in the collection had a relatively stable preservation environment.

Inheritance and Development: The Times Value and Mission of the Forbidden City

The important speech delivered by the Supreme Leader General Secretary at the forum on cultural inheritance and development made a comprehensive, systematic and in-depth exposition on a series of major theoretical and practical issues concerning the inheritance and development of Chinese culture. He emphasized that China has a long history and Chinese civilization is profound. Only through a comprehensive and in-depth understanding of the history of Chinese civilization can we more effectively promote the creative transformation and innovative development of Chinese excellent traditional culture, more effectively promote the cultural construction of Socialism with Chinese characteristics and build the modern civilization of the Chinese nation.

The people of the Forbidden City in the new era have taken over the baton of their predecessors and moved on, and gradually formed the guiding ideology of running the hospital in the new era: guided by the supreme leader Socialism with Chinese characteristics Thought in the new era, they adhere to the cultural relics work policy of "protection first, strengthening management, excavating value, making effective use of cultural relics" and truly and completely protect and carry forward the excellent Chinese traditional culture carried by the Forbidden City responsibly. Supported by the construction of "Safe Palace Museum, Academic Palace Museum, Digital Palace Museum and Vitality Palace Museum", the Palace Museum will be built into a world-class museum, a model of world cultural heritage protection, a leader in the integration of culture and tourism, and a Chinese cultural reception room for civilized exchanges and mutual learning.

This guiding ideology defines the mission of the Palace Museum, as well as the path and measures to fulfill the mission. We must promote the high-quality development of the protection of the world cultural heritage in the Forbidden City through all advanced scientific and technological means and the construction of "Safe Forbidden City, Academic Forbidden City, Digital Forbidden City and Vitality Forbidden City" to realize the permanent preservation and sustainable inheritance of the heritage.

"Safe Forbidden City" is the most basic and primary task. Through the construction of "Safe Forbidden City", we can better implement the idea of "protection first", make full use of science and technology and management means, and truly and completely protect the Forbidden City, a cultural heritage shared by mankind. The "Safe Palace" project was started in 2013 and lasted for 8 years. On the basis of the successful practice of the "Overall Renovation and Protection Project of the Forbidden City", the "Safe Forbidden City" project is a more macroscopic protection engineering system, which aims to further solve the major security problems existing in the Forbidden City, such as fire hazards, theft hazards, earthquake hazards, natural damage of collections, cultural relics warehouses, infrastructure hazards, and audience safety hazards. At the same time, the construction of the North Campus, the basement renovation project, the infrastructure renovation project, the world cultural heritage monitoring project, the Forbidden City, etc. are defined. Since the implementation of the "Safe Forbidden City" project, it has made outstanding achievements, made positive contributions to the construction and development of the Palace Museum, and also marked that the concept of the protection of the Forbidden City from the perspective of "complete Forbidden City" has entered a mature stage.

The "Academic Forbidden City" is the core. From its establishment to today, the Palace Museum has always been academic. With an open and inclusive attitude, we have promoted in-depth research in many fields such as the ancient architecture of the Forbidden City, cultural relics collection, archives of the Ming and Qing Dynasties, court history and culture, and cultural heritage protection, and a large number of academic achievements have been published. We will build a platform for academic exchange, academic publication and personnel training, so that more outstanding talents can gather in the Palace Museum, a big family of academic research. Solidly promote the academic investigation and exchange projects such as the "Talents Program", "The Forbidden City and the Ancient Palace Studies" and "The Forbidden City Scholars Talk about the Forbidden City", and hold the "Workshop for Ancient Palace Studies University Teachers" to attract teachers from universities and research institutions at home and abroad to participate in the study of the ancient palace studies, so that the outstanding value of the world cultural heritage of the Forbidden City can be more completely explained and more "flowing water from the source" can be injected into the construction of the modern civilization of the Chinese nation. We also launched an "open project" to invite scholars and professionals from all over the society to study the architecture and cultural relics of the Forbidden City. There were 40 projects in the first phase and 30 projects in this year, which greatly expanded the academic team and academic vision of the Forbidden City research. A stable and energetic academic team that conducts multidisciplinary research around the excellent Chinese traditional culture carried by the Forbidden City, and a number of open and inclusive academic exchange platforms.A series of high-quality academic achievements will promote the academic research of the Palace Museum in the direction of integrity, systematism and openness.

The "Digital Forbidden City" is the support. Now is the era of informationization, digitalization and even artificial intelligence, and the Forbidden City has firmly grasped the pulse of this era. The construction of "Digital Forbidden City" can be traced back to more than 20 years ago, starting from the earliest website and database construction. Today, it has formed a huge digital forbidden city system from the basic layer, resource layer to application layer. In this process, we continue to cooperate with enterprises, universities and international institutions to ensure that the Digital Palace Museum will bring forth new ideas in digital collection of cultural relics, database construction and data management. The Palace Museum digitizes its collection of cultural relics at the rate of 70,000 to 80,000 pieces per year. Up to now, it has completed the basic image shooting of more than 900,000 pieces of cultural relics. At present, the digital cultural relics library has published more than 100,000 high-definition images of cultural relics. We offer online digital thematic exhibitions, including "Famous Paintings of the Forbidden City", "Panoramic Forbidden City" and "Digital Treasure Pavilion". This year, we also launched the multilingual website of the Palace Museum, which covers the languages of the five permanent members of the United Nations and will be gradually expanded in the future. You can also enter the world of the digital Forbidden City through the Forbidden City applet, enjoy the beautiful pictures of the Forbidden City, and see the architecture and related explanations of the Forbidden City. At the same time, almost every exhibition in the Forbidden City has a supporting online exhibition, and the audience can use the Forbidden City exhibition App.Enjoy the fun of immersive viewing in the cloud. We have also launched new media products such as "Forbidden City 365", "Playing around the Forbidden City", "Famous Paintings of the Forbidden City" and "Daily Forbidden City", and the digital exhibition and research venue of cultural relics in full digital form "The Digital Hall of the Great Hall of the Forbidden City" will soon be opened to the public. Keeping pace with the development of the times, it is one of our efforts to creatively transform the achievements of academic research into products that people like and can have an impact, so as to better spread them out.

"Vitality Palace" is the purpose. Let cultural relics live, that is, let the value contained in cultural relics live, and let the culture carried by cultural relics combine with this era to form the culture of the times. The first way to live is to be open, so that people can walk into the Forbidden City, a world cultural heritage museum, and experience the vastness, continuity and tolerance of Chinese civilization on the spot. According to statistics, from 1949 to — In 2022, the Forbidden City received 468 million visitors, including 2012 — In 2022, the audience was 142 million in this decade. We should not only protect cultural relics, but also let the audience have a good tour experience. We can only limit the carrying capacity of tourists. In order to let more people visit the Forbidden City, we let people see it in the cloud through various online exhibitions and digital communication. Digital theme exhibitions such as "The Riverside Scene on the Qingming Festival 3.0", "Strings for the Road" and "Discovery of hall of mental cultivation" have enabled the multiculturalism carried by the cultural relics of the Forbidden City to take the wings of digital technology and enter thousands of households. We also create dance dramas, musicals, TV feature films, etc. by means of modern art to fully present the colorful culture of the Forbidden City. The Forbidden City, in conjunction with relevant institutions, launched a stage play "Only Green", a children’s musical "You Duan", a TV special program "On the New Forbidden City", "Poetry and Painting China" and "The Forbidden City, Polite", which endowed Chinese excellent traditional culture with new forms of expression and connotation of the times. The Forbidden City also launched high-quality popular science books for young people, such as I’m going to the Forbidden City, the 24 solar terms of the Forbidden City, and The Great Baby of the Forbidden City, telling the stories in the Forbidden City with pictures and pictures, and conveying the socialist core values and growth wisdom by displaying the excellent Chinese traditional culture.

Telling the story of China to the international community is a very important mission of the Palace Museum. In the past ten years, the Forbidden City has exhibited 52 cultural relics abroad, Hong Kong, Macao and Taiwan, and participated in 21 cultural relics exhibitions organized by overseas cooperative institutions and China Cultural Relics Exchange Center, involving 32 countries and regions (including Hong Kong, Macao and Taiwan). At the same time, the Forbidden City actively participated in the "One Belt, One Road" national archaeological project, and cooperated with world-renowned archaeological research institutions such as Kenya National Museum, Kenya Kishi University, and the Archaeological Department of Durham University in the United Kingdom to carry out archaeological investigations and field excavations, so as to inherit the spirit of Silk Road in archaeological cooperation and promote the exchange of civilizations and mutual learning. We have also held international academic forums such as the "Taihe Forum", implemented the "Taihe Scholar Plan" to promote equal dialogue, exchange and mutual learning between Chinese and foreign scholars, built an international joint laboratory and training center, and passed on the development achievements of Chinese culture and contemporary China to the world through personnel exchanges and media publicity brought by cultural "please come in", so that the world can see the three-dimensional China.

The Forbidden City culture contributes cultural nutrients to Chinese modernization, which endows it with modern strength. In the new stage of development, the Palace Museum will adhere to the guidance of the supreme leader’s cultural thought and take a more open and inclusive attitude to protect and inherit the cultural heritage shared by mankind. At the same time, we should earnestly shoulder the new cultural mission, promote the implementation of global civilization initiatives with the cultural charm of the Forbidden City on the world stage, and contribute China wisdom and Chinese strength to building a community of human destiny.

Invest 1 billion yuan! Exploring Foxconn’s new business headquarters

Foxconn’s investment layout in Henan goes further.

Hon Hai recently announced that Foxconn will invest in the construction of a new business headquarters building in Zhengzhou to carry the functions of the new business headquarters. The first phase of the project is located in Zhengdong New District, with a total investment of about RMB 1 billion.

Where is Foxconn’s new business headquarters building built? What is the location advantage? What function will it assume in the future? At noon on July 25th, shanghai securities news reporter explored the latest situation of Foxconn’s new business headquarters building.

Exploring Foxconn’s new business headquarters building

The reporter’s investigation found that at the intersection of Sanquan Road and Longhu Inner Ring North Road in Zhengdong New District of Zhengzhou City, this piece of land with a large area has all been surrounded by blue enclosures. According to informed sources, this is the location of Foxconn’s new business headquarters building. The first phase of the project covers an area of about 43 mu.

Across the road from it is the Innovation Incubation Base of Zhongyuan Science and Technology City, which is also the transitional office of Foxconn’s new business headquarters.

Geographically, Foxconn’s new business headquarters building is located in the "golden area" of Zhengzhou-the "dragon head" position of Beilonghu area, with obvious geographical advantages.

In terms of transportation, the area is close to Zhongzhou Avenue, Longhu Zhonghuan Road and other important urban trunk roads, and transportation networks such as high-speed, high-speed rail, subway and public transportation have been formed.

There are also supporting facilities in the vicinity, such as Tsinghua High School Affiliated to Tsinghua University, Foreign Children’s School, Zhengda First Affiliated Hospital, Financial Island Lake Business, Zhengzhou Longhu Park and Fengshan Forest Park.

More importantly, high-tech enterprises gather near the location of Foxconn’s new business headquarters building, and companies such as Superconfusion and East Microelectronics are adjacent to it. The nearby Innovation Incubation Base of Zhongyuan Science and Technology City has settled in a number of characteristic digital innovation laboratories and science and technology innovation platforms such as artificial intelligence public laboratories.

According to Hon Hai’s announcement, the new business headquarters building will mainly build seven centers, including headquarters management center, R&D center and engineering center, strategic industrial development center, strategic industrial financial platform, industrial research institute and key talent center, marketing center and supply chain management center, and will implement the "3+3" strategy for Foxconn (three emerging industries of "electric vehicle, digital health and robot" and three new technologies of "artificial intelligence, semiconductor and new generation mobile communication").

"In February 2023, Chairman Liu Yangwei led the Foxconn senior management team to visit, and the four-day trip was all arranged in Zhengzhou. After that, in just over 60 days, Chairman Liu Yangwei came to Zhengzhou twice, and the words of’ thank you, be grateful, and join hands again’ expressed by Henan were widely circulated. " A person close to Foxconn Technology Group told reporters that the close contact between Foxconn executives and Henan in the first half of 2023 finally yielded fruitful results on April 25 of that year-the new business headquarters of Foxconn Technology Group was established in Beilonghu, Zhengzhou.

Foxconn said that it will continue to deepen Henan, accelerate the implementation of the "3+3" transformation and development strategy, and build Foxconn’s new business headquarters into a core base and an important benchmark for Foxconn’s global innovation and industrial layout.

Judging from the expected functions, Foxconn’s new business headquarters will accelerate Foxconn’s landing in emerging industries such as electric vehicles, energy storage batteries, digital health and robots. This also means that in the future, a large number of technical talents and innovative resources will be gathered here to form a scientific and technological innovation and emerging industrial ecosystem.

Foxconn’s "Building a Car" Plan Accelerated Landing

In addition to the construction of Foxconn’s new business headquarters building, what attracts the attention of the outside world is Foxconn’s "building a car" plan in Zhengzhou.

Hon Hai revealed in the announcement that Foxconn will focus on the electric vehicle trial production center and solid-state batteries in Zhengzhou Airport Economic Comprehensive Experimental Zone (hereinafter referred to as "Zhengzhou Airport Area").

According to Henan Daily, on July 22nd, the People’s Government of Henan Province and Foxconn Technology Group signed a strategic cooperation agreement in Zhengzhou. Witnessed by Lou Yangsheng, secretary of Henan Provincial Party Committee, Wang Kai, Governor of Henan Province and Liu Yangwei, chairman of Foxconn Technology Group, signed the contract on behalf of both parties. Wang Kai also attended the launching ceremony of Foxconn’s new business series investment projects and the groundbreaking ceremony of the new energy vehicle trial-production center held in Zhengzhou Airport on the 23rd.

Henan daily data map

The reporter of Shanghai Stock Exchange learned that Foxconn’s goal this time is to build the core production base of Foxconn electric vehicles in Zhengzhou Airport Area. The related project (proposed location) is located in the southeast area of Zhengzhou Airport Area, only 2-3 kilometers away from BYD’s largest new energy automobile factory in China-Zhengzhou BYD production base.

"The plot to be located has been installed with enclosures last year, and most of them have completed the preliminary work such as cultural survey. These plots are marked with’ H Group’ land in all functional departments of the port area. " A person close to Zhengzhou Airport told reporters that Foxconn laid out and built the world’s largest Apple mobile phone production base in Zhengzhou Airport more than ten years ago. Today, the production area of Foxconn’s new business unit has once again settled in Zhengzhou Airport Area.

Song Xiangqing, vice president of the Institute of Government Management of Beijing Normal University and director of the Industrial Economic Research Center, told reporters that whether it is new energy vehicles, solid-state batteries, robots and other projects, or AI, semiconductors and other technologies, Foxconn is betting on the future track. It must be a well-thought-out decision to focus part of our business on Zhengzhou. "As a core city in the Central Plains, Zhengzhou has shown strong development momentum in transportation, science and technology, and new energy industries in recent years. In addition, the strong support of the Henan provincial government for high-tech enterprises has also provided a good external environment for the further development of Foxconn. "

In fact, since entering Henan in 2010, Foxconn and Henan have continuously deepened cooperation. The data shows that since the establishment of the factory, the cumulative import and export volume of Zhengzhou Foxconn accounts for about 60% of the total import and export volume of Henan Province and 80% of Zhengzhou City. In addition, during the "Thirteenth Five-Year Plan" period, Zhengzhou Foxconn has driven more than 200 related industrial chain enterprises to settle in Zhengzhou Airport, with an investment of 300 billion yuan.

"Henan initially gave Foxconn preferential treatment in terms of land and taxes, and later gave the province the power to help Foxconn recruit and provide human resources and other aspects of protection. Foxconn not only contributed bright import and export data to Henan, but more importantly, it solved the employment problem of hundreds of thousands of people in Henan. It can be said that the 14-year cooperation and running-in between Henan and Foxconn laid the foundation for win-win cooperation between the two sides. This is a historical choice and a two-way trip. " The above-mentioned insiders also said that the hand in hand with Foxconn this time is an excellent opportunity for Henan to transform, upgrade and accelerate development. With the gradual implementation of various projects, it is expected to bring a series of chain reactions to Henan, from scientific and technological innovation to industrial upgrading, and then to the transformation of economic growth mode, or it will all be accelerated.

What industrial signals does Foxconn release from overweight investment?

The reporter combed the public information and found that since 2018, Foxconn has also made a lot of investments in Zhuhai, Guangdong, Jinan, Shandong, Nanjing, Jiangsu and other places. These investments cover semiconductor industry chains from fabs and semiconductor equipment to packaging and testing.

Including the cooperation with Zhuhai municipal government to start the construction of a 12-inch wafer factory with a total investment of 9 billion US dollars; Established an investment fund of RMB 3.75 billion in cooperation with Jinan Municipal Government to promote the development of semiconductor industry in Shandong Province; Foxconn’s Jingding Precision Nanjing Semiconductor Industry Base and Semiconductor Equipment Manufacturing Project settled in Nanjing …

"Foxconn’s series of overweight investment actions reflect its emphasis on future technological development. Through these investments, Foxconn aims to strengthen its position in the global industrial chain while promoting local economic growth and technological progress. " Some people in the electronic information industry chain said that from an industrial perspective, it is inevitable for Foxconn to shift its investment focus from mobile phones to new energy vehicles. "With more friends and lower profits, this move is also to seek a’ second curve’. At the same time, under the strategy of multi-point layout and diversification of supply chain risks, Foxconn is likely to continue to invest more in new business in China on the one hand, and transfer some OEM business to emerging markets on the other hand. "

Some insiders also said that driven by high-quality development, corporate investment represented by Foxconn is also undergoing simultaneous transformation and upgrading. In addition, the advantages of China’s manufacturing industry, the scale of consumer market, deeply integrated supply chain, digital economy and other opportunities in the field of sustainable development are all important driving forces to stimulate its expansion.

Baidu retreats behind the scenes, and Geely releases sub-brands. Will it be possible to realize Li Yanhong’s dream of building a car?

Recently, the joint venture project between Baidu and Geely Automobile has undergone major changes. . The two sides announced the strategic cooperation upgrade, jointly launched a new automobile robot brand-Extreme Yue, and released its first model, Extreme Yue 01. This dynamic means further development and innovation in the field of smart cars.

Looking back on the cooperation between the two parties, they started to build cars together in early 2021 and jointly established Jidu Automobile Co., Ltd., in which Baidu holds 55% of the shares and Geely holds 45%. However, the limited edition of ROBO-01, the first automobile robot launched by Jidu, has not been delivered so far, and the relevant information can not be found in the inquiry system of the Ministry of Industry and Information Technology, which raises doubts about the legitimacy of Jidu automobile.

In order to solve the problem of production qualification, Jidu Automobile made a series of industrial and commercial changes, among which Geely withdrew from the ranks of shareholders in June 2022, making Baidu the sole shareholder. Then, Jidu Automobile was renamed Shanghai Mihang Automobile Co., Ltd., and Hangzhou Jiyue Automobile Technology Co., Ltd. was established. These adjustments are to meet the needs of business development and have not changed the shareholding ratio of Baidu and Geely.

Recently, Geely Automobile and Baidu set up a joint venture to further strengthen the cooperation between the two sides. The legal representative of the new company is Zhang Quan, senior vice president of Geely Holding Group, and the general manager is Xia Yiping, CEO of Jidu Automobile. The company’s main business scope includes new energy vehicle sales, automobile sales and auto parts retail.

Although Jidu does not have independent automobile manufacturing qualification at present, as a brand-new brand under Geely, Jiyue Automobile can rely on Geely’s production qualification for production. According to the latest announcement of the 374th batch of new automobile products issued by the Ministry of Industry and Information Technology, the information of Extreme Yue 01 has appeared in it, and delivery is expected to begin soon.

At the same time, JIDU Automobile was renamed Jidu, and the official website was renamed Jiyue Automobile Robot. Jidu will focus on smart car product definition and AI intelligent technology innovation, and provide support for Extreme Yue brand. This cooperation upgrade has brought more cooperation opportunities for Baidu and Geely, and injected new vitality into the smart car industry.

Personally, the upgrade of strategic cooperation between Baidu and Geely, as well as the release of the ultra-yue brand, have undoubtedly had a positive impact on the smart car industry in China. The cooperation between the two parties will give full play to their respective advantages, strengthen technological innovation and resource integration, and is expected to promote the development of smart cars. However, the problems in the production qualification of Jidu automobile still need to be paid attention to and solved to ensure its compliance operation and meet consumers’ expectations for legal and compliant products. Only on the basis of compliance and legality can we steadily promote the development of the smart car industry.

Popular stars Zhu Yilong and Yang Zi won the Weibo King and Weibo Queen of the "Weibo Night" in 2023, respectively.

First of all, Zhu Yilong, who has specialized in the film industry in recent years, has indeed achieved outstanding results. The "Life Events", "Vanishing Her", and "Error by the River" starring him are all well-received and popular productions, and they have also maintained a rather high artistic standard. From the two works, the audience has also seen Zhu Yilong’s talent and diligence at the film level, and the future is even more promising.

In the "Weibo Night" that night, in addition to receiving the highest honor of Weibo King, Zhu Yilong also won the Weibo Influential Film of the Year for his movie "Vanishing Her", and the "Error by the River" based on Yu Hua’s novel starring him won the Weibo Word-of-mouth Film of the Year. Furthermore, Yang Zi is the winner of this year’s "Weibo Night" Weibo Queen, and this is the third time she has won the title of Weibo Queen. Previously, in 2019 and 2020, Yang Zi and Xiao Zhan won the titles of Weibo King and Weibo Queen for two consecutive years.

Looking back at the entire "Weibo Night", Yang Zi’s exposure was quite high. First of all, the main creator of the New Year blockbuster "Hot Hot" just announced on the same day, including Zhang Xiaofei, Lei Jiayin and other stars appeared on the red carpet together. Then, Yang Zi and Liu Shishi jointly won the appeal actor of the year. In the end, she won the honor of Weibo Queen in one fell swoop, and the topic of #Yang Zisan won Weibo Queen #instantly hit the hot search, which was indeed the biggest winner of "Weibo Night".

Of course, the whole "Weibo Night" is also full of stars. It is a kind of luck to be selected as Weibo Queen, and it is also an encouragement and encouragement for young artists. I hope they can bring more good works to everyone in the future, and lead by example to become a good example for young people. Come on.

Little is known why Yang Ying decided to call her Angelababy

Among all the stars in the Chinese mainland, only Angelababy became the only one who became famous in English.

Many people are familiar with the name Angelababy, but they are unfamiliar with the name Yang Ying.

So why is Yang Ying called Angelababy? How did this name become popular?

Angelababy was born in Shanghai on February 28, 1989. She is of Chinese-German descent and her Chinese name is Yang Ying. She is a true Chinese.

Angela (Angela) is a woman’s name. Zhang Shaohan’s English name is Angela Zhang, and Li Xiang’s daughter’s English name is Angela, which is also the name of a Japanese animation singer group. Baby means baby, in addition to calling children, you can also call your beloved. Angel is the English of "angel", and AngelaBaby is connected together, which means "angel baby".

Angelababy’s English name was Angela when she was a child, but her classmates thought the three sounds of the name were too difficult to pronounce, and she had Baby Fat, so they were all called Baby. When she hosted the Disney show, she used Angela back, and later didn’t want everyone to confuse her name, so they combined to become the current angelababy.

Afterwards, she made her debut as a model and turned her acting career to the big screen in 2007. She grew up step by step, becoming increasingly known as angelababy.

In recent years, her popularity has skyrocketed and her career has blossomed: she has been in the top 100 of the Forbes China Celebrity List for three consecutive years, and she has attended international events such as Paris Fashion Week, Milan Fashion Week, and the Venice International Film Festival.

After Angelababy became famous, the Chinese name Yang Ying was rarely used. The media and fans only remembered the name Angelababy, and for convenience, everyone called her baby.

Angelababy smiled and said, "But I still like my family to call me by my real name, Yang Ying, in Shanghai dialect. It feels the most cordial!"

Now she and Huang Xiaoming are happily together, and on January 17, 2017, they ushered in a new life together. From then on, 1 + 1 = 3.

Ordinary netizens are her, and every time they see Xiang Tai, they are tearing up Zhou Xingchi

??1905 movie network feature Recently, Xiang Tai Chen Lan has made headlines again. Yes, it’s still because of Zhou Xingchi.

??Because of the hacking incident, Xiang Tai "laid a gun", and once again turned over the old account with Xingye, and wrote a long Weibo. But the content is similar to before – owe money, owe wine, complain about character, and so on, and then like in 2014, viral reposts agree with her netizens Weibo… There are not many times when you are tired of reading gossip, Xiao Dianjun said that it is a little boring.

??In line with the attitude that gossip must be well-founded, he casually sorted out Xiang Tai’s record, and couldn’t help but be a little… square.

??Before September 2014, she was still a blogger who dedicated herself to chicken soup, boosting popularity, publicity, public welfare, and other "entertainment ladies’ daily". Looking at the more than 3,000 people on the watch list, you can see how big this eldest sister is. "Internet addiction".

??Suddenly one day, an article "Why Do So Many People Black Zhou Xingchi?" appeared, and a netizens claiming to be a veteran Zhou Xingchi fan "Cute Face Star" wrote 50,000 words. From childhood, the article not only described Zhou Xingchi’s decades of acting career, but also commented on some insiders who had "connections" with Xingye. Naturally, this included Xiang Huaqiang, who had worked with him for many years.

"Why do so many people black Zhou Xingchi?" excerpt

??The article mentioned that Zhou Xingchi was involved in gangs because of Mr. Xiang’s relationship, which triggered the attack of Xiang Huaqiang’s wife, Chen Lan. The vigorous "standing in line" activity that year stirred up half of the entertainment industry, and Zhou Xingchi, who had been low-key and low-key since the filming, suddenly became a hot search. From then on, Xiang Tai Chen Lan embarked on the road of no return of "endless life, tearing up more and more".

??Xiang Tai only registered her Weibo account in July 2014, and has been in a casual state since then. He is as down-to-earth as the aunt next door. In September, the war began, and a group of relatives and friends inside and outside the circle came out to exemplify Zhou Xingchi’s various "bad deeds". However, how do we associate cause and effect, except for the "Why So Many People Black Zhou Xingchi" post whose origin, author, and time are unknown, we can’t remember what kind of hurtful things Xing Ye did before that provoked her. After all, Xing Ye now has no lace news other than his works, and few people really care about his life outside the drama.

??The first time it was torn up, a so-called insider broke the news to the media that Zhou Xingchi privately admitted his mistake and apologized, but Chen Lan immediately refuted the rumor on Weibo: "I don’t need him to apologize! You can not return the money, you can also not return the wine, as long as my husband is innocent! I have never bullied him. I will repay my gods!"

??Then until the end of October 2014, Xiang Tai kept shouting to Zhou Xingchi not to be a "shrinking tortoise" to confront him, and also forwarded Weibo to identify Zhou Xingchi’s assistant as the mastermind behind it. But the netizens were cowardly and soon deleted the original Weibo Shenyin.

??The named assistant Chen Zhenyu immediately responded: In the past, now, and in the future, we will not do such shameful acts as buying online water armies.

??However, as an "outdated boy" who did not play Weibo, Zhou Xingchi never appeared and calmly shot his movie. Only the agent responded to the matter in the media, saying that the article "Why So Many People Black Zhou Xingchi" was not written by them.

??What happened later was like any hot event, no matter how big it was, it would be replaced by other hot spots. Xiang Tai was not immune to the vulgar, and became an "enthusiastic Internet user", tinkering with the love of the front, instigating Cecilia Cheung, helping Gong Li bombard the Golden Horse Award, following the trend and mocking Blanket Star, helping his son tear up creditors, scolding Zhang Weiping Huang Yiqing Madonna, etc…. At this point of view, he is really an active "Internet user" who is not much different from us.

??Of course, until April 2015, Chen Lan was still retweeting negative news about Zhou Xingchi. In addition to denouncing Zhou Xingchi’s fans as water soldiers, he also liked to post some small jokes, and the cynicism never stopped (suddenly feeling like true love?)

??I thought this kind of pulling was about to subside, but with the popularity of "Mermaid", there were reports that Xiang Tai started to fight with Zhou Xingchi again, and said that many of his Weibo insinuated that Zhou Xingchi’s new work "Mermaid" was fraudulent at the box office, until director Wang Jing, who had been at odds with Xing Ye, sent Weibo to "show friendship" to Zhou Xingchi, suspected of intending to break the deadlock in the relationship between the two. This also became the "fuse" for Xiang Tai’s official attack on Zhou Xingchi again, pointing to the "Mermaid" box office being too fake. Zhou Xingchi’s fans quit and ran to Tai Weibo to shoot.

??Even Mr. Xiang Huaqiang couldn’t sit still and opened Weibo to support his wife. (Mr. Xiang, who is a tough guy, is a little cute to show his love)

??Up until now, it was as if Xiang Tai had decided that he wanted to ask for an explanation from Lord Xing. After sending a long article, he began to heavily forward all kinds of Weibo of Lord Black. This public opinion war is still going on.

??Let’s not talk about conspiracy theories or thick black science, but interpret Chen Landan as a netizens, and her reactions after that are no different from our usual online rivalry with others. Xiao Dianjun would rather believe that the grievances between her and Xingye are all a misunderstanding of love and killing each other. On the other hand, think about it, why is Mrs. Kuo, who has been talking about a few bottles of wine for so many years, still a little "cute"?

??In the early morning, I thought of sending a long article to poke Zhou Xingchi, maybe it was because the fans of "Mermaid" swiped the screen to brush her hair, right? "I’ll let you taste my power!" – That’s probably what I thought. I’m afraid that Chen Lan is the only public figure who plays social networks with the same mentality as us? Forgive Xiaodian, there is really no way to regard her online as a member of the entertainment industry, and she doesn’t even have a Weibo public relations team. She only relies on her husband and son to support her, and you still dare to join the "Internet entertainment industry"?!

??When he was young, he was busy helping his husband with his career, but now that he became famous, he was used to working hard and couldn’t stop. Maybe he was afraid of being run by his relatives, so he became obsessed with money, and even if it wasn’t that bad now, he wanted to care about it. As for coming out and beating on Zhou Xingchi when he had nothing to do, it might be that he was suddenly unhappy to see netizens swiping his news on the homepage.

??She is not short of money and doesn’t expect to be able to get back through the Internet. The whole of China knows that Xing Ye has no social network account. Can she not know?

??So, take a look, don’t be on the line. Whether the two sides are angry and serious, you will lose if you are serious.

The continuous improvement of China’s deep-sea equipment technology provides scientific and technological support for archaeological research of shipwreck sites in the South China Sea.

Xinhua News Agency, Beijing, May 22 (Reporter Zhang Quan) National Cultural Heritage Administration and others recently announced that China has discovered two ancient shipwreck sites in the South China Sea, and archaeological investigation will be carried out in stages in the future. The reporter learned from the China Academy of Sciences that the technical level of China’s deep-sea equipment has been continuously improved, which has played a key role in this archaeological discovery and will provide strong support for the follow-up archaeological investigation.

It is reported that in October 2022, when the Institute of Deep-sea Science and Engineering of Chinese Academy of Sciences carried out the special scientific investigation and deep diving operation of Chinese Academy of Sciences’ strategic pilot science and technology in the South China Sea, two large-scale submarine shipwreck sites were discovered in the sea area about 1500 meters deep on the northwest slope of the South China Sea, and the relevant national and local departments were notified in time. Later, the two shipwrecks were named the No.1 Shipwreck on the Northwest Slope of the South China Sea and the No.2 Shipwreck on the Northwest Slope of the South China Sea.

"In recent years, a series of technologies and equipment, such as ship-borne multi-beam system, emergency rescue and salvage tools, and underwater unmanned detection platform, independently deployed and developed by the Chinese Academy of Sciences’ pilot project, have laid a solid foundation for underwater discovery and salvage of deep-sea cultural relics." Chen Chuanxu, deputy director of the Science Department of the Institute of Deep Sea Science and Engineering, Chinese Academy of Sciences, said.

With the approval of National Cultural Heritage Administration, the Archaeological Research Center of National Cultural Heritage Administration, the Institute of Deep Sea Science and Engineering of Chinese Academy of Sciences and the Nanhai Museum of China (Hainan) will carry out the archaeological investigation of the No.1 and No.2 shipwreck sites in three stages in about one year. This is the first time that the underwater archaeologists in China have applied the theories, techniques and methods of archaeology, carried out systematic and scientific archaeological investigation, recording and research on the ancient shipwreck site located at a depth of 1,000 meters under water in strict accordance with the requirements of the working regulations of underwater archaeology and with the help of deep diving technology and equipment.

According to Chen Chuanxu, in view of the special requirements of on-site observation and extraction of cultural relics, the Institute of Deep Sea Science and Engineering of Chinese Academy of Sciences will use manned/unmanned submersibles, and cooperate with the use of new force feedback flexible manipulators and submarine-borne sand blowing cleaning devices to carry out nondestructive protective extraction of seabed cultural relics, and clean up key cultural relics covered by sediments underwater, which is convenient for archaeologists to observe in situ.

"We will make full use of the existing platform technology and equipment, including ‘ Exploration No.1 ’ ‘ Exploration II ’ Scientific research ship, ‘ Deep sea warrior ’ Number, ‘ Struggler ’ Manned submersible, ‘ Lion Fish No.1 ’ Remote control of underwater robots, etc., while carrying out key technical research and special equipment research and development in deep-sea archaeology, providing strong support for deep-sea archaeological work. " Chen Chuanxu said.

Is it spring for science students to hand over their bright "employment transcripts"?

"2019 China Labor Market Development Report" points out that the structural contradiction of college students’ employment is prominent, and the external environment changes cause the demand of college students to upgrade and the adjustment of college students’ supply to lag behind, which is manifested in the employment difficulties of liberal arts graduates and the shortage of science and engineering talents.

With the end of the semester, the "autumn trick" in full swing has also come to an end. According to the statistics of the Ministry of Education, the number of college graduates in 2020 is expected to reach 8.74 million, an increase of 400,000 compared with the same period of last year. The number of graduates has reached a new high, and the employment situation is still grim.

However, some college students find that their major is not as difficult to find a job as the students around them complain, and they can even easily hold several employment notices. Some surveys also point out that the employment of college students now presents a "structural contradiction": the change of social environment and the development of emerging industries lead to the shortage of science and engineering talents.

Science and engineering majors hand over bright "employment transcripts"

Looking back on my job-hunting experience during this period, Mou Panlong, a senior student at Northeastern University Qinhuangdao Branch, said, "I’m still very happy".

Mou Panlong majored in electrical engineering and automation. As soon as he entered his senior year, he submitted resumes to several favorite companies online — — They are well-known companies in China, and they also participated in the presentation of professional counterparts organized by the school. Not long ago, the company that submitted his resume online contacted him and invited him to have a video interview the next morning. During the interview, he introduced himself briefly and asked several professional-related questions. In the evening, he was informed that the interview had passed.

"Then we talked about the salary and treatment, and both sides were very satisfied. The result now should still meet psychological expectations." Yan Panlong said happily.

An interview with the reporter of Zhongqingbao Zhongqingwang found that in science and engineering, there are not a few students who easily hold an offer like Mou Panlong. At the same time, during this period, colleges and universities began to release the employment quality reports of graduates in 2019, and the "employment transcripts" of science and engineering majors in many science and engineering schools and comprehensive universities were very eye-catching.

According to the Report on the Employment Quality of Graduates in 2019 in Tsinghua University, as of October 31, 2019, the employment rate of graduates in 2019 in Tsinghua University was 98.1%. From the perspective of the industries to which the unit belongs, the industries with the largest number of graduates mainly include information transmission, software and information technology services. Enterprises are the main units for graduates to sign tripartite employment, accounting for 69.9% of the employed, of which private enterprises account for 33.4%.

In addition, the "Report on the Employment Quality of Graduates in 2019" released by Beihang University shows that after the average annual salary of graduates in 2018 broke the 150,000 yuan mark, the average annual salary of graduates in 2019 reached a new high of 181,300 yuan, and the graduates received an average of 3.96 employment notices during the job search. In Beijing Institute of Technology, the employment rate of graduates in 2019 was 98.35%, and the top 30 enterprises (groups) receiving graduates were all units in important fields such as aerospace, aviation, weapons and electronics.

"In Beijing Institute of Technology, it is not unusual for a student to get more than a dozen employment letters in his hand before the Spring Festival." Lin Jijia, director of the Career Guidance Center of Beijing Institute of Technology, also observed that the demand for science and engineering jobs has been increasing in recent years. He took the demand of employers for Beijing Institute of Technology as an example. "There is indeed an inequality between liberal arts and science and engineering. The demand for science and engineering posts is obviously greater than that of liberal arts, which may also be related to the positioning of the school."

"Structural Shortage" of Science and Engineering Talents

In the recruitment market of universities, why can "no job" and "no talent" coexist?

Not long ago, the 2019 China Labor Market Development Report released by the Labor Market Research Center of Beijing Normal University pointed out that the structural contradiction of college students’ employment is prominent, and the external environment changes cause the demand of college students to upgrade and the adjustment of college students’ supply to lag behind, which is manifested in the employment difficulties of liberal arts graduates and the shortage of science and engineering talents.

In some colleges and universities, we can see the "talent war" in the field of science and engineering from the industry distribution of employers recruited in colleges and universities. Zhejiang University’s "Report on the Employment Quality of Graduates in 2019" shows that from the distribution of the industries where 3,290 units are recruited from Zhejiang University, manufacturing, information transmission, software and information technology services, scientific research and technical services have the largest number, accounting for 50.46% of the total.

In view of the "structural shortage" of science and engineering talents, Liu Xiaojie, deputy director of the Admissions and Employment Department of University of Science and Technology Beijing, said in an interview with the reporter of Zhongqing Daily and Zhongqing.com that this is basically the same as the demand for talents in the core technology fields urgently needed by the majority of employers in the process of national innovation and development. At the same time, there is a large demand for engineering students in some traditional financial and management positions, which really objectively reflects the urgent demand for science and engineering talents in the market.

"The recruitment of enterprises is no longer focused on professionalism. They are more inclined to whether students’ ability is competent for the post, so it also provides a convenient condition for engineering students to apply for a job across the border, while the scope of cross-border job hunting for liberal arts students is indeed less likely." Liu Xiaojie said.

Nevertheless, both liberal arts students and science students have their own advantages and disadvantages in the process of employment.

Liu Xiaojie said that in the process of job hunting, science and engineering students have less practical experience related to employment. From the perspective of students’ individual ability, oral communication and expression, language organization ability and job preparation are often not as full as those of liberal arts students; However, the professional substitutability of liberal arts students is higher than that of science students, so employers will have higher requirements for job seekers’ personal ability and internship pertinence.

Lin Yujia also said that from the perspective of job requirements, most of the positions for recruiting liberal arts students require portability, while the job requirements for science and engineering students mainly focus on professional skills. When science and engineering students apply for civil servants or other public management positions, their written test and interview performance are obviously inferior to those of liberal arts students.

"In addition, judging from the job requirements announced by the national examination, there are not many positions that are not limited to majors, and many engineering students have no chance to apply for the exam. From the perspective of time schedule, the front line for liberal arts students to find a job is longer. " Lin Yijia said.

College students should establish "reasonable employment expectation"

For college students of science and engineering, it is more necessary to keep a cool head under numerous choices.

Liu Yiwei (pseudonym), a graduate student of Tongji University, joined the "Autumn Recruitment" army in September last year and has now "landed". Recalling the recruitment experience in the past few months, she said, "The result is good, but the process is tortuous."

In many written tests and interviews, Liu Yiwei had a deeper understanding of his major. "My major is technical, so compared with the liberal arts major, I feel it is relatively simple to find a counterpart job. But on the other hand, my choice is narrower than that of liberal arts students, and I can only find job opportunities in professional fields. Of course, as a science student, we should cherish what we have ‘ Technical threshold ’ " .

Liu Xiaojie also found some gratifying changes in this year’s graduates’ job hunting. "First of all, graduates’ awareness of job hunting has improved compared with previous students. The choice in the process of job hunting is no longer limited to high salary, and more people are beginning to think about life and future planning. Secondly, the overall level of students’ job-seeking skills has improved, which is also inseparable from the generally solid development of employment in various universities. "

In view of college students’ job hunting, many college teachers suggest that college students should establish "reasonable employment expectations".

Lin Jijia said that the so-called difficulty in finding jobs for college students is due to the contradiction between supply and demand, but there are also reasons for high personal expectations. Many students’ unreasonable employment expectations lead to "high failure and low failure". "We should pay more attention to the material treatment, pay attention to the needs of the country, and pay attention to the matching of people and posts and long-term development".

In addition, Liu Xiaojie suggested that it is necessary to make long-term preparations to avoid urgent needs. "Our survey shows that students who have clearly planned and practiced since their freshman year have significantly higher employment satisfaction and employment quality, and their employment difficulty is also lower. Therefore, only when they have a plan can they have a direction and a direction can they have motivation."

Liu Xiaojie said that for science students who are now favored by employers, it is necessary to combine their growth with the needs of the country and the development of the mainstream. "Personal growth can only be more stable and faster if you stand on the big platform of the country, and you can only play a greater role if you are in the fields and regions that the country needs most."
